CISSP® – Certified Information Systems Security Professional

The (ISC)2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP®) certificate gives you international recognition as a security professional and increases your market value. The CISSP® training prepares you for the official CISSP® exam. This five-day program covers all of the eight domains.

Course description

During the CISSP® training you’re given deeper knowledge and background information regarding information security with sufficient room for discussion of your questions, all for a good preparation for passing the exam.
The CISSP® training schedule consist of the following:

Day 1:

  • Domain 1: Security and Risk Management
  • Review Questions Domains 1
  • Domain 2: Asset Security
  • Review Questions Domains 2

Day 2:

  • Domain 3: Security Engineering
  • Review Questions Domain 3

Day 3:

  • Domain 7: Security Operations
  • Review Questions Domain 7

Day 4:

  • Domain 5: Identity and Access Management
  • Review Questions Domains 5
  • Domain 4: Communications and Network Security
  • Review Questions Domains 4

Day 5:

  • Domain 8: Software Development Security
  • Review Questions Domains 8
  • Domain 6: Security Assessment and Testing
  • Review Questions Domains 6
  • Test exam

Exam & Certification

The actual exam takes 3 hours and consists of 100 to 150 English multiple choice questions. To be CISSP® certified you have to meet the following requirements:

  • Pass the CISSP®-Exam
  • Have at least 5 years relevant working experience in at least two CISSP®-domains (or 4 years’ experience combined with an HBO study).

If you have less than 4 years’ experience the exam is still valuable because you can become a “(ISC)² associate”. When you gather more years of experience you will still get the full certification.

Intended audience

Chief Security Officer (CSO), (IT) Security Manager, (IT) Security Officer, (IT) Security Specialist, IT Manager or Network Administrator.

Study load and Self study

The total study load for the CISSP® course is ca. 120 hours. This can be broken down to:

  • 40 lesson hours
  • 80 hours of self study (On average. This can vary from person to person)
